BRAND: BRIXTON BREWERY
ROLE: DESIGN LEAD
CATEGORY: ILLUSTRATION, PACKAGING

Brixton Brewery's monthly specials are small-batch releases that experiment with new recipes and partner with local businesses and community initiatives. I've designed over 100 limited edition labels for the series, partnering with Oddbox, Volcano Coffee Works, M.C. Overalls, Rueben's Reubens, Brockwell Live, Scribe and Dulwich Picture House.

MORE THAN A CRUSH

The playful, pun forward theme of this Valentines Day beer is designed with an equally kitch, sticker style label design. Stickers of the illustrations featured were produced as a buying incentive and given out in multipacks.

HOP WATER

Hop Water was Brixton Brewery’s first non-beer product and they wanted to highlight this novel point of difference visually. The layout takes a purposeful turn from the standard Brixton label design, to swerve preconceptions and appeal to a new crowd.

I designed a bespoke type face, based on our brand font Geogrotesque, that would feel familiar to our beer packaging but reflect the intriguing flavour profile which is refreshing and a little bit funky.

URBAN ANIMALS

Before Pigeon Pale, came the original Urban Animals series including: Cheryl the Chicken, Britney the Pony and Jerry the Alpaca. These beers were part of a wider fund raising campaign for Vauxhall City Farm, where the playful anthropomorphization of their animals and illustrations I created, aimed to increase engagement with the farm and highlight it’s unique urban environment.

BELO

BeLo was brewed as part of the collaboration with Scribe Cycling and their fundraising 900km ride from Belfast to London. The illustration is based on their route and the iconic landmarks passed on the journey. Working with the Scribe team, we also produced custom wheels and hubs based on the illustration.
